Sheepabration 2012!!   Leave a comment

This is a LAST MINUTE announcement, but this Saturday, May 26 is Sheepabration!! at Fort Ord National Monument, America’s newest National Monument (just dedicated last week), located in the Monterrey Bay area of Northern California. On Saturday, from 9AM to 12 Noon (the sheep need their afternoon naps!), visitors can visit with sheep herders from California and Peru, along with their trained sheep dogs; attend presentations on sheep herding, behavior, sheep-shearing (sheep haircuts), wool spinning and dog behavior. Remember, please leave YOUR dog at home or inside a safe carrier, dogs that aren’t used to being around sheep can be very dangerous and hard to handle. Yes, this includes you, Fluffy the Pocket Poodle.

“Pay no attention to those guys behind me. I’m striking a pose here!”

Of course, the highlight of the day will be personal appearances of the Heavy-Meadow sheep themselves, who are psyched to visit with their fans. They will be available for photos, and maybe autographs if you bring your own pen.  And if any of the sheep know how to write.
