The Awards of Doing Good   Leave a comment

Are you a teen – or know a teen – who cares about wildlife and nature? Do you have a great idea for a project that will help your community and the environment? Then this contest is for you! The Teens for Planet Earth Community Project Awards recognize teens around the world for outstanding environmental projects relevant to their communities and surrounding natural environment. A direct link to the application is http://www.teens4planetearth.org/page/2010-application.

Teens for Planet Earth (T4PE) is an Environmental Social Network, developed by some of the leading zoological institutions in the US: The Wildlife Conservation Society; Bronx Zoo; Prospect Park Zoo; Queens Zoo; Central Park Zoo and New York Aquarium. T4PE is a place to connect with others concerned about the environment, find ideas and tools for creating successful environmental projects in your community, and (here’s the most exciting part), work toward Community Project Awards which recognize teams of teens across the world for their leadership and commitment to the environment. So not only will you be doing good, you might be rewarded, too!

There are three levels of awards for the projects that are judged most exceptional, from Certificates of Merit and project listing on the T4PE website, to cash awards that can be applied toward education or to grow and improve your project. Applications must be in by October 15, 2012, so here’s your chance to do something good, that’s also good for you! Check out www.teens4planetearth.org for more information.
